How to Install Zebra Blinds Inside Mount
Installing zebra blinds inside your windows can add a stylish, decorative touch to any room. With a few simple tools and following some key steps, you can easily mount these beautiful blinds inside your window frames.
Before You Begin
Before starting the installation process, check that you have all the necessary materials:
Zebra blinds
Measuring tape
Pencil
Level
Power drill
Screwdriver
Screws suitable for your window material
It's also helpful to have someone assist you during installation. An extra set of hands makes aligning and securing the blinds much easier.
Measure and Mark Mounting Locations
First, measure the inside dimensions of your window frame. Make sure to note the exact width at the top, middle, and bottom of the frame. Having detailed measurements ensures your blinds will fit perfectly within the window.
Next, use a pencil to lightly mark where you will insert screws to mount the blind brackets. Most zebra blinds come with two or more brackets. Position the bracket marks evenly spaced within the frame, aligning them several inches from the top and bottom of the window. Use a level to ensure your marks are perfectly straight.
Install Mounting Brackets
With a power drill, insert screws into the marked bracket locations. Make sure screws are tightened securely, but be careful not to overtighten.
If you have especially thick window framing, use longer screws to ensure the brackets can be embedded deeply enough for a sturdy mount.
Attach Blind to Brackets
Your zebra blind should come with a valence, or top covering piece. First slide the valence over the headrail, or top tube portion of the blind.
Next, position the blind inside the window frame, aligning the channels on the back of the headrail with the mounting brackets. Firmly push the headrail straight back onto the brackets until it clicks securely in place.
Check Alignment and Adjust if Needed
Examine the mounted blind from all angles to ensure it sits straight and evenly within the window frame. If it appears uneven, gently slide the blind left or right on the brackets to adjust alignment.
You can also adjust the angle of slanted blinds by rotating the tilting mechanism on the headrail. Rotate towards the direction you want the blind slats to angle.
Attach Safety Devices
For safety, make sure to secure all cords and strings using the provided fastening devices. Wrap any loose cords around cleats or anchors to keep out of reach of children and pets. Properly securing the cords helps prevent unnecessary injuries or damage.
And that's it! Your zebra blind should now be beautifully installed and ready to decorate your window. Adjust the slats to control light filtering and privacy. Over time it may be necessary to tighten mounting screws if blinds become loose. But otherwise enjoy your stylish new zebra blind!
