How to Install Zebra Blinds Inside Mount
Installing zebra blinds inside your windows can add a stylish, unique touch to any room. With a few simple tools and following some key steps, you can easily install these striking blinds yourself.
Gather the Necessary Materials
Before getting started, you'll need to gather everything required for the installation:
Zebra blinds
Measuring tape
Pencil
Level
Power drill with drill bits
Screws suitable for mounting to your window frame material
Screwdriver
Be sure you have the proper screw type - wood screws, sheet metal screws etc. - for attaching the brackets securely onto your window frames.
Measure Carefully for Each Window
Once you have all the necessary supplies, the next crucial step is taking accurate measurements of each window you'll be installing the blinds on. You want the blinds to fit perfectly within the window frame without any light gaps or extra space on the sides.
Use a measuring tape to measure the exact width across the top, middle, and bottom of the inside window frame opening. Write down the measurements for each window. Keep the pencil measurements handy for the next step.
Mark Bracket Locations
Use the window frame measurements to mark out where to attach the mounting brackets. Most zebra blinds come with two L-shaped brackets meant to be mounted at either side of the window frame.
Position the brackets spaced evenly from the sides, aligned vertically, and make pencil marks at the screw holes. This allows pre-drilling the holes before attaching the brackets.
Be sure the brackets are level by placing the level against them and adjusting until perfectly straight.
Pre-Drill Holes for Brackets
To avoid splitting wood window frames (or making holes too large in drywall), take the time to pre-drill holes at each marked bracket location. Drill a hole slightly smaller in diameter than your screw size.
If working on a solid surface like wood, masonry, or metal, drill a pilot hole the same depth as the screw length for better holding power.
Secure Brackets to Window Frame
With your holes pre-drilled, attach the L-brackets securely onto the window frame using a screwdriver and the appropriate screw type.
Make sure not to over-tighten. Check that the brackets remain perfectly level and aligned vertically on the frame.
Mount the Blind Properly in Brackets
Now for the fun part - hanging your dazzling new zebra blind!
With the brackets firmly in place, simply slide the blind into the end channels of the brackets, aligning it evenly within the window frame.
Ensure the blind can move smoothly and the control rod rotates properly to adjust slat angles as needed.
And that's it - you now have a unique, eye-catching zebra blind professionally installed and ready to control light and privacy with a twist of the rod!
